Ice surfaceRefrigerated: City of Bettendorf council record (May 2024, Change Order No. 1 for The Landing) — the approved scope includes the rink and a permanent in-slab cooling system. Disclosure: the council record does not use the words refrigeration, chiller, or piping; this listing rests on the in-slab cooling-system language in the council record, not on the word “permanent” alone. The cooling system is built into the slab, which is what distinguishes this rink from a flooded natural-ice surface.

The Landing Ice Rink is at 2255 Middle Road in Bettendorf, the Quad Cities’ only outdoor rink, with climate-controlled restrooms, concessions, warming areas, and outdoor gas firepits. Public skating is $5 admission in the 2026–27 season, per the City’s season pages, but no dated opening notice, session hours, or rental prices are published for 2026–27, so check the City’s Landing page before going. What makes this rink distinctive

A town that built the rink into its park, not onto it: The Landing’s ice sits on a permanent in-slab cooling system approved in the City’s 2024 construction change order, replacing the former Frozen Landing, with a lodge, concessions, and firepits around it. It is the Quad Cities’ only outdoor rink, and its second season drew on a first season of more than sixteen thousand skaters.
