Plan your visit

The operator’s current site announces “Opening November 13th” but publishes no closing date and no current prices — check the site before going, and do not rely on last season’s $16/$14 figures. Hours on the current site: Thursday 5–9 PM, Friday 4–10 PM, Saturday 11 AM–10 PM, Sunday 1–8 PM, with Tuesdays on a call-ahead basis; hours shift in holiday weeks, so see the full calendar. Parking is free in downtown Sugar Hill, and the rink sits behind City Hall next to The Bowl, in the middle of the downtown winter village.

What makes this rink distinctive

A family operator, Have an Ice Day, making ice since 1998 — at the World of Coca-Cola, the Mall of Georgia and the Georgia International Horse Park before Sugar Hill — now running what local guides call one of the largest portable outdoor rinks in the Southeast. The real-ice evidence is unusually broad: the City of Sugar Hill says “skate on a real, outdoor rink,” Atlanta Parent calls it a “real outdoor rink,” and a local guide describes keeping “real ice frozen outdoors in Georgia from November through February.”

Season status: opens November 13, 2026 per the operator’s current site; closing date not yet published and therefore not stated. Correction to an earlier reading: the Atlanta Parent listing for this rink covers last season (November 14, 2025 – February 22, 2026), not 2026–27, so no February 2027 closing is claimed here. Real ice (separate sources): City of Sugar Hill (“a real, outdoor rink”), Atlanta Parent (“real outdoor rink”), and local guides on keeping real ice frozen outdoors.
