The return is confirmed but nothing else is posted yet, so don’t plan travel around it until the operator announces dates. Check the Mud Monsters announcement page in November — that’s where dates, hours, and tickets will land. What is confirmed: the rink grows for its second season, and the festival fills the ballpark with lights, fire pits, carnival rides, and festive food.
What makes this rink distinctive
The operator’s own announcement says the rink returns for the 2026 holiday season and grows by 900 square feet — and the surface is real ice on two independent lines: the ticketing copy calls it “real ice skating,” and the first-season feature describes aluminum ice mats with an industrial chiller pumping coolant through tubes, plus a Zamboni on the rink. The prior season’s rink size is deliberately not restated here, since the rink is 900 square feet larger this year.

Season status: window tier — return confirmed for the 2026 holiday season (Mississippi Mud Monsters operator announcement, September 2, 2026: “The Southern Lights will return to Trustmark Park for the 2026 holiday season” and “Specific dates, hours, ticket information and additional details surrounding this year’s event will be announced in the coming weeks”). The official event site still shows first-season dates and is NOT used for 2026 dates. Real ice: ticketing copy (“real ice skating,” “Ice skating is real ice”) + first-season feature (aluminum ice mats, industrial chiller pumping coolant through tubes, Zamboni). Prior-season size, dates, hours, and prices are NOT carried forward. NAME COLLISION: a Simpletix listing for an event also called “The Southern Lights” (300-acre plant/nature venue) is NOT Trustmark Park — its dates and prices are not used here.
