Plan your visit

The Payson Ice Rink is a town-operated rink at Green Valley Park, run by Payson Parks and Recreation. The full 2026–27 season schedule has not been posted yet, so check the town rink page before going. Two current-season anchors are confirmed on the town events page: the Winter Wonderland and Electric Light Parade on December 12, 2026, and free ice skating at the rink during the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks on December 31, 2026, 4–7pm. Prior-season prices are deliberately not carried forward. Note the surface basis: the operator calls it a real, genuine ice rink, but no chiller or glycol wording was found, so the refrigeration mechanism is disclosed as unconfirmed.

What makes this rink distinctive

A small-town mountain rink near 5,000 feet, run by the town itself: Payson’s rink pairs timed public sessions with hockey clinics and beginner figure classes, private igloos, and a New Year’s Eve ball drop and fireworks at the rink. Its second season drew 3,876 skaters, per a 2026 town council report.
