Every ticket supports the Holliday Park Foundation, which maintains the park. Skate aids ($14) help first-timers, and MashCraft Brewing pours rinkside Friday evenings through Sundays. The season runs to March 1 — the longest in Indianapolis.
What makes this rink distinctive
The rink stands in one of Indianapolis's grandest parks, beside the Holliday Park Ruins — the facade of a demolished New York skyscraper re-erected as a garden folly. Skating with that view, run by a foundation for the park's benefit, is a very Indianapolis arrangement.
