Plan your visit

Five dollars, rental and skate aid included, ages 5 and under free — Anderson’s rink is the cheapest verified admission in the directory’s southern tier, and the hours split into two blocks: evenings only through December 20, then afternoons and evenings from December 21. Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Time your visit for Friday, December 4 if you want the tree lighting plus professional figure skater Olivia Pellerin’s performance on the rink at 7:30 PM.

What makes this rink distinctive

The city says “real ice” twice on its current page — once for the rink itself, once for the figure-skating performance on it — which settles an older roundup’s claim that this was a synthetic pad. Either the surface changed since that ~2022 description or the description was wrong; the current city source governs, and a professional skater performing on it is not something you book on plastic panels.

Season status: November 30, 2026 – January 3, 2027 (City of Anderson page; hours blocks November 30 – December 20 and December 21 – January 3; year confirmed by dated items on the same page: tree lighting Friday, December 4, 2026, and Free Santa Night Saturday, December 12, 2026). Real ice (city page, twice): “Ice in the Park, a real ice skating rink in the heart of Downtown” and “a performance by professional figure skater Olivia Pellerin on our real ice skating rink.” An older roundup (~2022) described this rink as synthetic — the current city source governs and supersedes it.
