Holiday ice skating is returning to Nashville Yards with one important difference: the downtown destination plans to offer real ice instead of the synthetic skating surface used last winter. Its seasonal attraction, Rink Under Broad, is scheduled to open on Saturday, November 21, 2026, as part of the district's Holiday Central celebration.

Real ice skating replaces last year's synthetic rink

Last season, visitors could skate on a synthetic surface beneath Broadway. For 2026, organizers say Rink Under Broad will use real ice and cover an area roughly half the size of a regulation NHL rink. The location beneath the Broadway bridge provides some shelter from the weather, though visitors should still check for any schedule changes.

The rink is expected to operate seven days a week and will also be available for private events. Tickets had not gone on sale when the October 19 announcement appeared, so admission prices, skate-rental details and daily session hours remain unconfirmed. Families planning a visit should check Nashville Yards' official information before traveling.

A 40-foot Christmas tree and holiday events

Skating is only part of Holiday Central. Nashville Yards is planning a free public Christmas tree lighting at Ascension Saint Thomas Landing at 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 28. The centerpiece is a 40-foot tree positioned above the Broadway bridge.

A holiday market featuring small businesses is scheduled for November 28 and 29. Other announced activities include photos with Santa, holiday movie nights, and seasonal food and drinks. Several activities will be free, but that does not mean rink admission will be free.

The broader Holiday Central program is scheduled from November 21 through January 3. The organizers have not separately confirmed January 3 as the ice rink's closing date, so visitors should not assume the rink operates for that entire period.

Where to find Rink Under Broad

The rink is part of Nashville Yards in downtown Nashville, beneath Broadway near Ascension Saint Thomas Landing. The development lists 131 10th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37203 for parking and access; published information mentions validated parking there.
