Chicago's outdoor skating season is taking shape, and Millennium Park is on the calendar. Choose Chicago lists November 20, 2026 as the seasonal opening date for McCormick Tribune Ice Rink, the open-air skating destination beside Cloud Gate, better known as “The Bean.” The rink is expected to run into February 2027, though a precise closing day has not been specified by the source.

Admission is free, while skate rentals are available for a fee. Visitors should check current session and reservation instructions before traveling, especially during busy weekends and holidays. Free skating lessons have also been advertised on selected weekend mornings.

McCormick Tribune and the Maggie Daley Park Skating Ribbon are separate Chicago skating attractions. Maggie Daley's ribbon is currently listed for November 13, 2026 through March 7, 2027. Visitors wanting to skate both should review the operators' schedules individually.

Visitor planning: McCormick Tribune Ice Rink is located in Millennium Park, 201 E Randolph Street, Chicago. Check for weather-related closures before your visit.
